Fashion nail art is one of the aspects that I love to discover new trends and exceptional designs.

Of course, there are some I’ve discovered that I like for one reason or another – creative, useful, or just plain gorgeous.

Here are the 20 designs I love most about nails and the story behind why such and such is my favorite!

1. Minimalist Neutrals

Minimalist designs are part of my favorite styles because such patterns look perfect on everything.

Pastels such as light apricots, blush pink, and other nude shades appear slick and are indeed classy.

These are versatile — great for casual wear and for dressing up occasions and they are never an issue with the outfit or with other accessories.

At times I will incorporate some metallic shade or a speck, a line, or on top of the stoke for character.

This is another that I find most suitable for a sophisticated look without necessarily being too flashy.

2. Bold French Tips

As for the French tip, the original design has always appealed to me, but lately, I have been a fan of the more rebellious and fresh approaches to it.

While the traditional ‘white tip’ is always an option, I prefer to get creative with neon colors, glitter, or even animal prints!

It is still formal and classy, but this added style sets it apart from regular formal wear.

This is the perfect design when I want to look classy and elegant but add a hint of modernity and quirk that will turn heads.

 3. Marble Magic

Whenever I wear my shoes, I feel and look artistic and luxurious because of the marble nail design.

Swirling in black, practical white, and occasionally gold, it seems like pieces of marble on your nails!

The most exciting part is that every nail is different from the other in the set completely.

Whether I am going for strictly a black and white theme or using pastel colors, I get noticed and feel so posh and stylish with marble nails.

4. Holographic Nails

I think that the concept of holographic nails is just fun. I love how they shimmer and transform their color with the angle of the light.

It feels as if the nails are painted with a rainbøw.

This design is perfect for when I want something fun and more stimulating to the eye.

I do get lots of compliments when I have them on, especially if I wear them during the day when the light shining on them brings out their shine.

Also, they go well with informal as well as formal wear depending on the occasion.

 5. Matte Finish

Something has a certain refined and contemporary appeal to it when has a matte finish.

The material transforms any shade into such a statement piece that when I wear deep red, navy, or even black, I feel chicer.

What can I say about matte nails? They are so classy and simple that I just cannot enjoy them enough.

What I particularly enjoyed is how the paper is smooth to the touch, yet it does not have the glossy feel of other types of paper.

So if you fancy something more sophisticated but unique, matte nails are the answer for you!

6. Floral Accents

When I am in the mood for a cute and girly nail art design, I often go for floral nail art.

The intricate designs at the center of a pastel or clear background are refined and subtle and would best be used in spring or summer.

Sometimes I’ll go for hand-painted flowers, other times I’ll use decals for a more beautiful look as you can see here.

The thing I appreciate most is that it can be abstract or minimally invasive, depending on the colors and design chosen.

Here is how to glam up your nails, ladies – Glitter nails are the perfect solution to all your style problems!

It does not matter whether it is a party, Christmas time, or maybe when I want to feel like a dazzling diva – glitter nails look simply stunning.

That would have been me going all out with glitter on my nails or doing one or two accent nails with glitter.

They’re whimsical, and sophisticated, and extinguish any sort of gloom I might be in.

Moreover, even the most austere person needs a touch of glitz in their lives from time to time.

 8. Geometric Patterns

For the past couple of years, geometric patterns have remained appealing to me because of their contemporary nature.

From triangles to stripes and loose shapes, geometric patterns give my nails an elegant touch.

I enjoy playing around with hues such as black and gold or nude and white.

This gives the nails a polished and artistic look, which makes this one of my preferred styles for a more classy appearance.

 9. Pastel Ombre

The concept of pastel ombre nails is so soft and gradual and works well for me.

It is great to blend one color into another, especially if the colors are related like lavender, baby blue, or mint green.

This design makes my nails appear delicate, and extraordinarily feminine, which is appropriate for spring or when one wants to change from a heavier design to a lighter one.

Despite the simplicity of this design, the idea of pastel ombre nails looks relevant and fashionable combined with a certain elegance.

Neon nails are my favorite when I want to be daring and have some fun.

Intense reds, vibrant blues,s, and fluorescent greens stand out and the combinations give off very lively vibes.

These nails are good during summer or any time when you want to have something colorful on your nails.

They are not for the weak stomach, but if you want to be unique, then neon nails are right for you!

11. Chrome Nails

Chrome nails do have this kind of futuristic, metallic finish that is incredibly eye-catching.

The Shine is just perfect, this mirror-like texture is stylish, chic, and very red-hot!

From silver and rose gold to even rainbow chrome, the nails emanate a highly technological and new-age outlook that cannot be cast off.

I wear them when I feel like some sparkle but not as flashy as a full glitter polish.

Chrome nails are so cool and when I have them on, I always feel like I am in the future.

12. Animal Print Accents

I have a special affection for animal print and I always try to include it when I do my nails.

These prints such as leopard, zebra, and snakeskin prints are very interesting and give a funny look to the outfit.

When it comes to nails, at most I prefer using one or two nails with animal print as this doesn’t come with vulgarness.

It is the best way to spice things up a little when the general appearance seems rather plain!

I love those nails with pearls Now that’s so elegant and very feminine.

I like how a few pearls can drastically transform a very basic manicure and make it look classy and even glamorous.

Whether it is the white-wash look or when I am adding pearls to a pale pink backdrop, this design is ideal for weddings, special occasions, or even when I want that extra touch of glamour.

Pearls make everything look classy and royal, and this makes me so happy!

Negative space nails are all about the use of space and space and I think that the look of these nails is very contemporary and stunning.

15. 3D Nail Art

When I am trying to be outrageous, then 3D nail art is the way to be! I have used the teeniest little crystals to little flowers and I just adore the added texture and depth.

3D designs look like mini statues on my nails which makes them easily noticeable to an onlooker.

Although some might not be very comfortable for day-to-day use, they are best worn on occasions or when one just wants to embrace artistic beauty.

17. Polka Dots

Polka dots are one of my favorite patterns, I like that they look playful and childish.

I like how they can be made small and delicate if you want the pieces to be almost invisible or made big with holes for a noticeable effect.

They come in almost any color you can imagine, and I have found that I can mix and match both the sizes and the colors to obtain the desired effect.

That little dot that characterizes the polka dot brings joy to any outfit, and of course, my nails could use them.

18. Watercolor Nails

Not to mention, the watercolor nails are so subtle and artsy, which I am all about.

The transition of colors perfectly makes it look like a painting where colors transition seamlessly into each other.

I like this design for the spring season or any occasion when I need a light but very artistic decision.

Abstract nail art is ideal when I do not have specific instructions, and I want something extraordinary.

This is because I enjoy using large and vivid colors, asymmetrical shapes, and lines to make the piece unique.

Wow, it almost feels like having a small piece of modernism on the nails themselves!

Of course, there are no mistakes with abstract designs, which is why I adore them—I get to unleash my creativity through my nails; it feels like painting on a nail.
