To combat big platforms like Gumtree, Shpockand letgo, a local entrepreneur, Mike Bell, has stepped up and launched ‘findThat’. It is an online marketplace for the local charities and community to have a digital platform to sell locally and raise funds in a free and easy manner. With the advent of the digital era, everyone just goes online to find items they wish to purchase. Mike has facilitated just that. With his app, ‘findThat’ he has provided the general populace a digital market where they can sell their homemade goods, extra items, hold garage sales and trade locally. To sweeten the pot, the platform is absolutely free and ads can be posted without paying any charges.
findThat was built with the focus in mind to counter all the flaws that major digital platforms already had and then features were added to make the app and the marketplace the best there is. The app is aimed to create demand and boost the economy, locally and in turn have a macroeconomic impact as well. The interface has been designed to be as user-friendly as possible without cutting away anything important and making the app filled with helpful features.
Founder, Mike Bell came up with the idea in 2017 and has been developing the app since then. Currently, the app has been catering to the local UK market with plans to expand globally in the upcoming months. Popular features include an in-app messaging platform, option to connect to Whatsapp, free delivery, deal finder and a rating system for buyers and sellers. The app is also planning to roll out a payment platform to facilitate the users.
