Bernt Bodal is a Norwegian-American businessman famous for being the former Chief Executive Officer of American Seafoods, one of the leading seafood companies in the United States of America. 

Also a former musician, Bodal is a Rock N Roll Fantasy Camp partner. He is most recognized for his strong leadership abilities, which helps him stay on top of the charts regarding businesses and the management cultures he stands for.

Successful Career

After doing multiple minor jobs, Bernt collected enough money to focus on his own business. So he teamed up with a group of investors in 1999 and acquired the company American Seafoods. 

He was named Chief Executive Officer of the company and held the position until 2017.

After more than 25 years of service, Bernt Bodal retired from the American Seafoods Company in May 2017. He stepped down from his position as chairman of the company’s Board of Directors as a part of his retirement from active participation.

In 2012, Bodal was featured on the reality TV series “Undercover Boss”. The show followed him while he spent time on a boat working as a fisherman. 

A noted leader and innovator, Mr. Bodal was responsible for taking the American Seafoods company through an era of colossal change, including developing fishing cooperatives in both the United States Pacific hake and Alaska pollock fisheries. 

Such cooperatives were essential to the company dramatically growing its product recovery rates.

Personal Life

Former American Seafoods CEO married twice in his life. According to media reports, Bernt Bodal married his first wife, Elisabeth Bodal, in 1978 when he was 25 years old. 

The couple first met when Bodal visited his relative’s house in Lofoten. They moved to the United States after marrying. In April 1979, his wife gave birth to a son, Thomas Bodal. In 1981, Bodal became the father of a daughter named Ellen Bodal after two years. Alexander Olav Bodal, his second son, was born in 1989.

Due to personal causes, the pair divorced shortly after the birth of their children. Following that, he met and began dating TV actress Elizabeth Lyn Vargas. After a while, they both tied a knot with each other. Elizabeth and Bernt do not have a child. In July 2020, Bodal and Vargas finished their divorce, which was announced in October 2020. However, they did not reveal the true cause for their separation from the public. Bernt also enjoys spending most of his time with his rock band friends.

Mr. Bernt Bodal has a net worth of $200 million. In 2008, he and his wife Elizabeth spent $3.5 million on a property in La Quinta, California. They also have mansions worth $2 million, built in 2014.

In 2008 Elizabeth and Bernt paid $3.5 million for a property in La Quinta, California (near Palm Springs). 

In 2014 they built a 10,500 square-foot mansion with six bedrooms and nine bathrooms.

In 2017, likely in the wake of their separation, Bernt and Elizabeth listed the home for sale for $11.9 million. It took over three years and several price reductions, but they finally found a buyer in July 2020 for $8.5 million.
